Between July 2007 and June 2008, the San Joaquin County Chapter of the American Red Cross responded to 100 house fires, assisting over 400 men, women, and children. Such assistance, however, is only possible with the help of you, the community!
Summer is the most challenging time of year here at the San Joaquin County Chapter of the American Red Cross. This is the season when much-needed contributions that drive our disaster services, CPR and First Aid training, and other vital Red Cross programs slow to a trickle.
It's understandable why this happens. People are away on well-deserved vacations, and are turning their attention to family summertime activities.
However, disasters do not rest for the summer. Large or small, disasters can strike at any time. And, here at home, wildfire season is upon us, so it is vitally important that Red Cross is ready to respond.

... and why we're asking friends like you to please remember the Red Cross during these leisurely months, when it could be easy to forget.
